As a small local business, why do we need a
website?
The simple answer is you
can't afford not to have a website... for advertising, for
customer service and for your image. Your clients and
prospects demand it.
Advertising: Your
website gets delivered 24 hours a day all around the world. The Internet
is some of the most cost efficient advertising you can buy. With a web
site you can have as much information displayed to your customers as you
want. It’s the only way to go nowadays.
Customer service:
How many times per day do you or a member of your staff answer the phone
and give the exact same information, over-and-over? A website can
provide "friendly" customer service. The customer doesn’t have to wait
on the phone to listen to a recording or hopefully a person to talk to.
They feel as though they are in control when they are gathering
information from your website. They decide what information they are
going to bring up and when they want it. And they can go back to it and
reread it any time they want. A website can not only improve your
sales, but it can reduce your costs as well.
Image:
Your website is a reflection of your company.
A professional, user-friendly, and informational website, can provide an excellent first impression.
It can make your small business appear more competent than your toughest
competitors.
What information do you need to design my
website?
To design your website
properly, we need to immerse ourselves in your business. We want
to learn as much as possible regarding your operation and objectives.
We need info about your business, your
products, and your clients. We also want any
brochures, advertisements, letterhead, logo and color scheme. If you
don't have a logo, we can develop one for you.
Also, it is helpful if you can steer us to
your competitors sites as well as identifying websites with a
style/flair the particularly appeals to you.
The more information the better.
Will my website be found when someone
searches (Google's) for my services?
Many webmasters
go to great lengths to craft wonderful web sites, putting little or no
thought into being found by search engines. Search Engine
Optimization is an art. Google uses more than 100 different
characteristics about each web page in indexing and ranking a page.
These items include: title, key words, page content, links to the page,
revision date, and much, much more. For detailed info on Search
Engine Optimization (SEO) read our white paper
Search Engine Optimization.
How much will it cost?
It all depends; however, below is out
standard price structure.
A basic website consisting of up to 6 pages
costs $800. Properly done, this can be sufficient for many small
businesses.
A slightly more elaborate website
consisting of up to 18 pages costs $1500. This works well for
businesses that need to display multiple products and/or services.
A Storefront, Ecommerce
website, is much more involved and costs $2400 and up, dependant on the
number of products, images, database provided, etc.
